Sydney UAC Expo

The Sydney UAC expo was on March 1, 2012, at the Novotel Brighton Le Sands. It allowed LAUW to engage with new brokers from across Sydney. The event was a huge success. We assisted with brokers’ queries and look forward to continuing to build new relationships with brokers as we broaden our geographical footprint.

Congratulations to Faith Hall, from Austbrokers RIS, for winning LAUW’s lucky draw, a bottle of Peter Lehmann 2007 shiraz.

New underwriter

As insurance risks and broker demands grow, so does LAUW. We are pleased to welcome Adam Rose, a new member to our steadily growing team. Adam comes from a broking background, specialising in financial institutions, professional indemnity and D&O insurance.

Renewals and new business

With June fast approaching, so too is the increased flow of renewals and new business submissions. LAUW remains committed to working with you during this period and maintaining our high service standards.

Notify changes in circumstances

With claims increasing, LAUW can’t stress enough the importance of notifying circumstances that could become potential claims as soon as insureds are aware of them. Failure to do so could lead to a breach of policy terms and conditions. It is important to reiterate to your clients the importance of making notifications promptly. This will ensure LAUW and our claims manager DCS can provide the best possible service when defending or settling claims.

It is particularly important that insureds and brokers are aware of the continuity language contained within any claims made policy.

Contract review services;  risk management legal advice

In our September 2011 e-newsletter we introduced a free contract review and legal advice service provided by law firm Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP).  With contracting in the construction industry becoming significantly more complex and onerous, we want to remind brokers of this great additional service. In light of growing commercial pressures, CBP provides a free contract review and audit service. Working closely with brokers, CBP will review contract terms and comment on coverage relevant to your clients’ LAUW professional indemnity policies.

The service extends only to architects, engineers and miscellaneous construction industries. To access the service, please call LAUW on (02) 8912 6400.
